THE DAILY GRIND

It’s been a hectic couple of months here in the blended office with corporate events, sporting events, deliveries and orders to various locations around Hong Kong. This brings me to my next thought topic – coffee! Now if you know me, you’ll know I’m a green tea kind of guy. I drink it all day, every day (a post for another day perhaps). However I do also enjoy a good coffee, both for its flavour and for its health benefits. And here is why you should be adding that cuppa-joe to your daily routine.

For your health – Coffee is a naturally sourced bean, roasted and prepared from the seeds of the coffea plant. It is loaded with antioxidants (cancer fights, wrinkle preventing) and has beneficial nutrients that can improve your overall health. And as it’s naturally sourced, it’s chemical and preservative free.

For energy – Caffeine is a stimulant so if you are drinking a cup, this will be absorbed into the bloodstream and travel to the brain. Basically here, it blocks neurotransmitters that make you sleepy allowing your energy enhancing ones to be engaged which leads to an increase in alertness!

For your vanity – It’s not just good to ingest, coffee is a great body scrub which has been shown to brighten your skin, unblock pores and soften your lines and wrinkles. Use the wet grounds to exfoliate your skin. Not only will it help shed dead skin cells but the acidity from the coffee will provide a protective barrier, keeping unwanted bacteria and the like from landing on your skin.

For Weight loss – Caffeine is a common product found in almost every advertised weight loss pill. The reason being, it boosts your metabolic rate which can lead to fat burning. The caffeine causes fat cells to break down in the body and become readily available for fuel, which is why it makes sense to have a strong cup of coffee right before you head to the gym!

However you take your brew – hot, cold, in your smoothie, in your protein shake, on ice or with milk – enjoy! And don't forget to give us a like on Facebook and follow us on Instagram for more fresh daily updates!

Yours caffeinated,

Jonny
